Poll of Polls presents an overview of polling results for the Austrian general election, which was planned to be held in 2018. The government formed by the two center parties, the Social Democrats, and the Austrian People Party has been trailing the far-right Freedom Party in polls since 2015. The Social Democrats under the new leadership of federal chancellor Christian Kern gained some ground in 2016. After the vice-chancellor resigned in May 2017, the conservative shooting-star Sebastian Kurz demanded to hold an early election. After he took over the ÖVP the party surged in the polls to first place. Also, the Greens changed their leadership, while the Team Stronach dropped out of the race.
The most recent election in Austria took place on the 15th of October 2017. There are always 183 seats up for election in the Austrian Nationalrat.
